Pay & Work Week |
Compensation is based on position and is $8.50 - $9.50 per hour. When the Trainee is working in a tipped position, the will be paid at the tip rate. Overtime laws apply when the Trainee works more than 40 hours in his/her scheduled week. Trainees are paid bi-weekly.
Employee meals programs are offered at each location.

Drug Test |
The company is a drug free workplace. Employees are required to submit and pass a pre-employment test for the presence of drugs.
Living Arrangements & Climate |
Our housing accommodations provide participants with a comfortable living experience. Trainees enjoy a furnished two bedroom two-bath apartment with amenities that will make the living experience comfortable. Each apartment has the basics for a comfortable living situation including kitchen cookware and utensils. Each Trainee will share his/her bedroom. Washers and dryers are located in each apartment. Trainees will need to purchase bed sheets, blankets, pillows and alarm clocks.

In regards to casual wear, trainees will want to bring T-shirts, shorts and swim wear. A sweater, light coat and slacks are also necessary since it can occasionally become cooler.

Due to limited public transportation, transportation is a frustrating aspect of our geographical area (the apartments are not in walking distance to shopping and entertainment); many trainees purchase automobiles to overcome this frustration.
Cost Information |
The cost of housing, electric, water, local phone, basic cable and use of daily transportation is $160.00 bi-weekly paycheck.
Housing Deposit - Trainees are required to pay $150.00 security deposit. This deposit is forfeited if the trainee ends their program early or does not return the housing in a clean orderly manner.

AHA is dedicated to providing excellent guest service to our guests and fellow team members. AHAs Guest Service Training Program, Memory Makers, will give you the opportunity to develop your customer service skills so as to exceed the guests expectations, build repeat customers and increase business profits within the company.
You will be required to apply the principles of the Memory Maker Guest Service Program to your daily responsibilities. AHA encourages you to demonstrate and practice the programs principles to reinforce your effectiveness as a guest service provider. This mission is accomplished by supporting the right Guest Service Attitude. Your attitude will contribute to how successful you will be in demonstrating guest service skills and teaching this skill to others.
Remember, people will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But, people will never forget how you made them feel. As an intern in a multicultural workplace, You Make A Difference!
C. Education
In cooperation with the AH&LA, industry experts and university partners around the world, the AHA has created the 1st global internship manual and workbook. SERVLEAD has been designed to guide interns in their professional development and strengthening of their cultural awareness skills throughout their internship. The Cultural Awareness and Professional Development chapters will provide you with exercises to practice during your internship to maximize your experience and learn what it takes to be a leader in a multicultural workplace. In addition to completing the workshops and exercises throughout the manual, you will be required to complete the SERVLEAD competencies located at the end of each chapter.

D. Practical Training
The hands-on practical training at the property allows you to apply the knowledge from the classroom and vice versa. You will be given the responsibility to complete 6 property competencies for your discipline of training (five general competencies and one discipline specific competency.) These competencies are to be used as a tool to gain exposure and knowledge of the hospitality industry and your field of study. They need to be completed and signed by your internship supervisor in order to receive a certificate of completion from the AHA and AH&LA.
The monthly academy fee is $150.00
As your sponsor, AHA will enhance your training experience by providing on site supervision and program services throughout your training. The AHA monthly program fee is $150 and will be deducted from your payroll check. The fee includes, but is not limited to the following
